Want to write your own email from scratch? With just a few ingredients, you’re ready to go. The key is to ensure your emails are clear, friendly and just a bit more organised than the situation you’re describing.

A good structure goes a long way – not just for readability, but for setting the tone, especially when you consider that your emails are doing more than sharing information. They’re helping build a sense of community. 

And it starts right at the top: Start with a warm, inclusive greeting like “Hi everyone” or “Hi team”. 

These greetings, as simple as they are, make the email feel inclusive. “Hi team” in particular has a nice way of gently reminding everyone:
