Be polite and respectful. Understand that some people won’t have as much disposable income as others and won’t be able to contribute as much as others. It is the thought that counts when it comes to contributions and signing the card. A heartfelt message on the card can make your colleague feel just as appreciated.
Also, in some workplaces, some people may feel uncomfortable contributing due to personality clashes or the like. Respect that, and don’t make a huge deal out of it.
Ideally, you should send a farewell card a few days before your coworker’s last day. This gives everyone a chance to sign the card and ensures your colleague receives it before they leave. Plus, it adds a nice touch to their final days at work.
You can send farewell cards on various occasions, including:

"Your next opportunity is so well deserved, and I have no doubt you’ll do amazing things! Keep chasing your dreams, and remember that we’ll always be cheering you on from here."

Create a birthday card they’ll keep forever
Forget the last-minute scramble for presents. With a GroupTogether kids birthday card, everyone contributes to one card (and even add a gift collection if you'd like) – less stuff, more love. Upload a favorite photo or two, and then chip in for a group gift like a Big W eGift Card for the latest LEGO. It's fun, thoughtful and way more sustainable. Bonus: the other parents will love you for it.
One card, signed by everyone they love. Create a birthday keepsake filled with sweet messages, silly drawings and memories from their friends and classmates – something they'll treasure long after the cake is gone.
