How does the AnyCard work?

The GroupTogether AnyCard lets the recipient choose the gift card/s they really want. Instead of guessing what someone might like, you give them a digital AnyCard and let them choose which brands they want. They can swap it online for one or more eGift Cards from leading retailers — over 100 brands in Australia and over 150 brands in the US. They have 3 years to make their choice, and once they’ve swapped, they can use those retailer eGift Cards online or in-store according to the retailer’s terms.

Here’s how it works:

• The recipient swaps their AnyCard for one or more eGift Cards from a huge selection (over 100 retailers in Australia and over 150 in the USA) including department stores, travel, experiences and food.
• They have 3 years to make the swap. After that, the retailer eGift Cards follow the brand’s own expiry rules.
• It’s super flexible. They can swap it for one or many gift cards and they can use it all at once, or over time. It’ll keep the balance on the AnyCard. 
• You can let a group of people chip in, or simply send an AnyCard to 1 or 1000 people in just a few minutes.
• Give the AnyCard as a printed voucher or send it digitally. You can download a PDF or send the link yourself.
• Because it’s digital, if it’s lost, the recipient can reach out to GroupTogether or the sender to have it resent to them. The recipient will lock the AnyCard to their mobile number so it's safe and secure.
• It’s more personal than a physical gift card because it comes with a card signed by one person or the whole group.
• Ideal for any gift occasion - from birthdays to work anniversaries, farewells to get wells.

How to use the AnyCard in store

You can’t spend the GroupTogether AnyCard itself at a checkout. The recipient must first swap it online for retailer eGift Card/s. If the retailer eGift Card supports in-store redemption, it can then be used just like a regular gift card - either by scanning a barcode on a phone or printing it out. 

Why is my AnyCard gift card not working?

Common issues include:

• The AnyCard hasn’t been swapped yet (it’s still credit). Swap it for a retailer eGift Card at GroupTogether.com
• Incorrect email or code entry (make sure your code has copy/pasted correctly).
• Trying to use the AnyCard directly in-store (must be swapped first).
• Retailer eGift Card has restrictions (e.g. online-only).
• Expired link (AnyCards expire after 3 years).

GroupTogether or the person who gave you the AnyCard can resend links, and retailer issues can be taken up directly with the brand.

How to redeem an AnyCard

Redeeming is simple:

• Click or enter the link in your gift email or card.
• Enter the gift code.
• Enter your mobile number to secure your AnyCard.
• Pick your retailer eGift Cards and amounts.
• Complete checkout — eGift Cards can be downloaded during that process and are emailed to you, ready to spend.

What brands does the AnyCard have?

Is the AnyCard a credit card?

No, the AnyCard isn’t a credit or debit card. It’s a prepaid gift credit that must be swapped for participating retailer eGift Cards.

Can I convert the AnyCard for cash?

No. You're given the opportunity to choose your own gift cards, not cash. That said, there’s an enormous range to choose from - including grocery stores, department stores, fashion and beauty, restaurants, etc.

How the AnyCard is different from other gift cards

Most gift cards lock the recipient into one store. The AnyCard gives them freedom of choice, letting them pick exactly what they want — and even split their balance across multiple retailers.

Also, it’s more personal. It comes as part of a stylish, luxe digital unwrapping experience with the recipient’s name embossed on the envelope, and a personalised card with a customisable card front cover. You can add a photo or GIF to the card cover that perfectly matches that recipient and a unique message e.g. “Happy 20th Birthday Nic”. 

If it’s from a group, you can let everyone add a messages, images and GIFs to the card. It’s a beautiful keepsake.

If it’s from your work, you can add a logo and a message from the company too.

Where can you use an AnyCard?

You can swap the AnyCard for a huge range of retailer eGift Cards. After swapping, you follow the chosen retailer’s rules — some are online-only, some can be used in-store.

Note: Our retailer eGift Cards can only be used in the country of issuing. So, for example, an Australian Uber card can only be used in Australia. A US Amazon card can only be used on the US Amazon site. Likewise, the Australian AnyCard can only be swapped for the retailer eGift Cards on the Australian GroupTogether website and the US AnyCard can only be swapped for the US retailer eGift Cards on the US GroupTogether website.

What gift card can you use anywhere?

No card can be used literally “anywhere,” but the AnyCard comes close by letting recipients choose from a huge range of retailers (100+ in AU and 150+ in the US). It’s worth knowing that in Australia, you can swap the AnyCard for a Restaurant Card that can be used at any cafe, bar or restaurant where EFTPOS is accepted (so basically anywhere).

Is there an AnyCard mobile app?

No standalone app exists. You don’t need one. The GroupTogether website is mobile-friendly and all cards and swaps can be managed on your phone.

How do you store your AnyCard?

You don’t need an app and you don’t need to “activate” your card. You just need to keep the original gift that you were given (either by email or physically) that has the code to access your gift. Once you swap the AnyCard for retailer eGift Cards e.g. Uber Eats, you can keep it as the downloaded PDF or the email that we send you.

Are there any fees to use a GroupTogether AnyCard?

In Australia, there’s no fees to use the AnyCard. A $100 AnyCard, for example, can be swapped for a $100 Woolworths eGift Card. In the US, there’s no fees to use the AnyCard except for three brands. If you want to swap the AnyCard for Amazon, Target or Walmart there’s a 2% fee that’s deducted. So a $100 US AnyCard can be swapped for a $100 DoorDash card but a $98 Amazon gift card. There’s over 150 eGift Cards to choose from and only three have that small fee.
