In today’s economy, every dollar counts – which is why more people are searching for a free group card when celebrating farewells, babies or birthdays at work or with friends.
Here’s the good news: you can create a free online group card – as long as you choose the right platform.
At GroupTogether, when you pair one of our iconic group cards with a gift collection (and just collect $20+), the card is free! No “gotcha” upgrades. Just a seamless way to collect contributions towards a gift, send a beautiful digital group card and put the money where it actually belongs – toward the gift.
Here’s how to send a free group card (the smart way).
There are two types of people in the world:
If you’re the organiser, you’ll be happy to know this: you can create a beautiful GroupTogether digital group card for free.
Yes – free.
All you need to do is add a gift collection and collect $20 or more. Once you do, the group card itself costs nothing. Here’s exactly how it works.
Head to GroupTogether and click “Start.” Now it’s time to create your card and collection:
GroupTogether generates a simple shareable link. You can:
Contributors can:
No logins required.

Once your collection closes, simply head to your dashboard to select the gift for your lucky recipient. Choose from 100+ eGift Cards or withdraw the funds for a flat 2% fee (AU only). Most people give the AnyCard which lets the recipient choose their own eGift Cards.
You can send the card and gift digitally, or download as a PDF to print and give.
The recipient sees a beautifully animated digital unwrapping experience – complete with all the messages and their gift!
Let’s be honest: organising group gifts can get messy – and expensive.
By combining the group card and gift collection in one place, GroupTogether keeps everything streamlined – and because the card becomes free once $20 is collected, everyone wins.
Even small contributions – $5 here, $10 there – can create a generous gift without anyone feeling pressured. With as few as 4 people on your team, you can reach the minimum spend with just 5 dollars each. It’s highway robbery!
The Bottom Line: If you’re already organising a group gift, there’s no reason to pay extra for the card. So don’t!
Simply start a gift collection, collect $20 or more and enjoy your free group card.
Let this be the year you refuse to chase down signees in the break room.
A: Your GroupTogether card becomes free when you add a gift collection and collect $20 or more toward a gift. Once that threshold is reached, there’s no separate card fee – the funds go toward the gift instead.
A: If the total gift collection doesn’t reach $20, the standard card fee applies – just $5.50. The plus is that most group gifts easily exceed this amount once multiple contributors chip in – even small amounts like $5 or $10 add up quickly.
A: You can set an amount but there’s no fixed contribution requirement – you can allow contributors to give what they’re comfortable with or even sign the card without contributing at all.
A: Yes. Whether the card is free with a collection or paid on its own, contributors can add personalised messages, photos and GIFs. The recipient receives the same beautifully animated digital card experience either way.
A: You can add an eGift Card – including flexible options like the AnyCard – or choose another gift option available in the GroupTogether gift store. In Australia, you can also withdraw the funds. As long as $20 or more is collected, the card itself is free.
A: No – there’s no limit to the number of contributors. You can invite as many people as you like to add messages and contribute toward the gift at no extra cost.
A: The gift and card are sent once you select gifts with your gift collection. You can choose to send the card and gift to yourself to forward along at a later time. The recipient receives the animated group card along with access to their gift.
