We're so inspired by the inherent goodness in humanity. This week, we found it in the heartwarming group card created to celebrate 20 Years of Edgar's Mission! With almost 2,000 signatures full of kindness and gratitude (and cuuuute pics of rescued farm animals), we wanted to share the story of Pam and Edgar's Mission.

Edgar's Mission is a farmed animal sanctuary that began with a dream and a tiny piglet named Edgar Alan Pig. This journey of love, dedication, and the unwavering belief in a kinder world showcases the transformative power of generosity and the remarkable community that surrounds Edgar's Mission.
Twenty years ago, Pam Ahern embarked on a life-changing mission. In the early hours of 10 May 2003, she set out to rescue a little piglet named Edgar Alan Pig. What initially started as a quirky idea for a photoshoot quickly blossomed into something much greater - a vision of creating a kinder world for all animals. With the rescue of Edgar, the seed was planted, and Edgar's Mission was born.
Edgar's Mission has come a long way since its inception. What began on a 30-acre site in Willowmavin has grown into a sprawling sanctuary spanning 153 peaceful acres in Lancefield. The sanctuary has been meticulously designed to meet the diverse needs of its animal residents, providing them with an environment that nurtures their physical and emotional well-being.
Today, Edgar's Mission stands tall as a thriving sanctuary and a beacon of hope. The sanctuary is currently home to over 400 rescued farmed animals who have found a safe haven and a life truly worth living after entering its gates. Edgar's Mission has built mountains for goats, created wetlands for ducks and geese, constructed a bunny bonanza for rabbits rescued from the rabbit meat industry, and created a paradise for porcine pals. The team at Edgar's Mission has pushed the veterinary boundaries of what is possible for farmed animals with disabilities, including hydrotherapy, laser therapy and prosthetics, proving that the impossible is only so for now.
The beauty of Edgar's Mission lies not only in the animals it saves but also in the incredible community it has fostered. This community, comprised of individuals from all walks of life, shares a common passion for creating a kinder world. Through events, tours, and volunteer opportunities, Edgar's Mission has touched the lives of countless individuals, inspiring them to join the cause and make a difference.
The community's support and love for Pam and her mission were evident on the 20th anniversary of Edgar's Mission. Almost 2,000 signatures adorned a GroupTogether card expressing gratitude for Pam's unwavering dedication. This outpouring of love is a testament to the remarkable impact Pam and Edgar's Mission have had, not only on the lives of animals but also on the hearts of people around the world. The power of kindness is the common thread through the past 20 years of Edgar's Mission.
"We were inspired to create the card for Pam as a way of saying thank you for everything she has done for animals and the community," said Sophia, Community Engagement and Advocacy at Edgar's Mission.
"We shared it in secret through our email database and word of mouth and were amazed by the overwhelming love and support the card received. It's a testament to the incredible impact that Pam and Edgar's Mission have had over the past 20 years."
Edgar's Mission is a reminder that every act of generosity, no matter how small, has the potential to create a ripple effect of compassion and change lives.
